First, some mood music:
Check out these crazy cool DIY projects I've found around online. They're all afternoon warrior projects that'll tickle your crafting bone (see what I did there? See??)
DIY: Decorative Skeleton Bone Table
Okay, there's a reason why Martha's ...well... Martha. How awesome is this table? So her tutorial is a little handyman-intensive, you definitely need to be comfortable with basic carpentry (saw, drill, etc). But so worth it! If only I had room, this would be on display year round.
Inspiration & DIY: Skeleton Hand Necklace
From Joyeria Osea's closed Etsy account
While the original is beautifully crafted from silver-plated bronze, wouldn't this be a fun project to duplicate? Well, Elizabeth over at Please Note Paper did just that with this nifty DIY: Skeleton Necklace Tutorial. Just a note: If you want the necklace to angle like the photo above, consider a spacer. For paint tricks, chrome spray paint and some darker acrylic to texture the crevices should do just nicely.
DIY: Spooky Hands!
This is probably the best haunt for your Halloween buck, right here. Cheap, quick, glowy- it's got all the good stuff. Check out Merry Bride's Spooky Hands Tutorial. Latex gloves, a sharpie, a jar and one of those battery votives and you're good to go.
So there's my Halloween skeleton tutorial roundup. I'm going to try these out ASAP, and maybe some Runners Up. If you try them out, let me know how it goes.
Happy Haunting!
